Transient Orca had stayed hidden for a
while, but made an appearance today. A Humpback Whale and some

Orca blows or even breaches closer to Comox when I was out for a
walk. First time in a while walking with no binoculars!

October 22:
5:02 pm Small Humpback Whale foraging
back and forth by Walcan Seafoods, Campbell River. Later: Sent
Humpback pics....he was bigger than I thought. He was making big
bubbles (something they do to help corral fish prior to lunge
feeding – SM) He breached once, but I was far away and just saw
the splash. That's how I found him!

The dorsal shape is similar to
BCY0291, 'KC' which stands for Kelp Creature, and the kelp play is a
favourite pastime, but not a conclusive photo ID - SM
